Why attend an ESL camp? Whether your child is having some difficulty with English or wants to hone their understanding, they’ll be deeply involved in the language through daily learning, team building and cultural activities. Campers are expected to speak English throughout the day through formal or informal activities so your child will always have the opportunity to enhance their language skills. At overnight camps especially, campers share rooms with students and benefit from the social interaction and cultural exchange with peers who are also learning English. Our camps integrate international students with Canadians so that children are learning a variety of experiences and have many opprotunities to improve their English.
Sharpen ESL skills this Summer The great advantage of our English as a Second Language camp is that your child's understanding of English will not languish over the winter months but will actually continue to improve (as it does during the school year). The full immersion in a second language strengthens conversational usage, understandings of subtleties and idioms and encourages deep friendships with (English speaking) children. At our ESL Camp, campers will learn to:
use basic vocabulary
read books and materials that match their reading skill level
practice writing with short compositions about their experiences
employ listening and comprehension skills.
speak, write and read
use phrases in "everyday English"
